Be the Change You Want to See in the World!

Change A Heart Franciscan Volunteer Program is seeking faith-filled young adults ages 21-30 who desire a year of personal and professional growth while walking with the poor and marginalized in the Pittsburgh region. Live in intentional community with others who have a heart for service. Choose a simple lifestyle focused on what you need verses what you want. Take the year developing your relationship with God with others seeking a deeper and more profound spirituality. And choose the non-profit of your choice and the population you would like to serve that fits your talents, education and skills from feeding the hungry, shadowing health care providers as they care for the homeless, provide resources to immigrants or nurturing young children. You can select from a variety of programs in the Pittsburgh region including, Education, Health Care, Social Services and Children & Youth. While in service, the program takes care of housing, food, transportation and you receive a monthly personal stipend.

Our program starts each year at the end of August until the following July. We would love to have you walk with us for a profound experience of change and transformation.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services will not be processing requests for books from other libraries until the Library reopens.  Requests for articles will continue to be processed but whether or not they will be filled, and how quickly, is dependent upon the status of other libraries' ILL departments.
Once the Library reopens we will resume our normal level of service. Thank you for your understanding on this matter.

Good Morning,

Whew…we made it through this week so far! Sunday we turned the clocks ahead an hour, Monday there was a full moon, it’s Friday the 13th and we’re happy to report that the thermometer is moving for the Mount Aloysius Annual Fund ~ Supporting Student Success campaign.

Thermometer - Progress 3.12.20.jpg

The Annual Fund supports student success by providing needs-based scholarships and financial assistance and a more robust campus life.  Any new or additional gift will help us meet the match challenge and have a greater impact on our students.

In order to meet the $25,000 match challenge, we need an additional $7,801.  If every employee made a gift of $42 today, we’d meet the goal.  If you haven’t made your gift yet, we ask that you please consider it.  Gifts can be made online or payroll donations are available to all regular full and part-time employees (form attached).

We are available to answer any questions you might have or you can contact Sally Gordon in Advancement at sgordon@mtaloy.edu or at Ext. 6395.

Greetings!

MAC is supporting the US Census 2020.

Details for all employees and students:

  • Mount Aloysius College has a representative on the Cambria County Census Complete Committee. We have committed to supporting the marketing and promotion of the US Census Count in 2020.
  • 2020 marks the 24th decennial United States Census which will count every person living in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and five U.S. territories.
  • MAC students who reside in Cambria County on April 1 will be counted as living in Cambria even if they have a different home address.

Details for students who might be interested in a PT paid job with the Census:

To assist in counting efforts, the Census Bureau is hiring enumerators to work during the spring and early summer. Enumerators will make between $18 and $20 an hour, going door-to-door to make sure that every household is counted by the Census.

To be eligible, applicants must be:

  • able to work 10 plus hours a week
  • a U.S. citizen
  • 18 years of age or older

Applicants may apply online by clicking here or by using the link below: https://2020census.gov/en/jobs.html
